Gerard K. Newman
Gerard is an itinerant software engineer now living in Hawaii. He grew up in Oak Ridge, TN, earned a BA in
Computer Science in 1984 from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville while working for SAIC and Digital Equipment Corporation, and moved to San Diego, CA in 1986 to work at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. Lured to Silicon Valley in the early 1990s, he survived two startups (TGV and Network Alchemy) and finally escaped part-time to Kona, Hawaii in 2000 and full-time in 2006. He and his wife Victoria have been together for over 20 years. He learned to SCUBA dive in 2001, and now spends a good portion of his waking hours under water.
